Catfish is a prized component of the Nigerian seafood cuisine. At freshtodommot, our catfish is farmed in the highest quality ponds and fed a strictly vegetarian diet. It has a moist, soft and delicate taste that can be paired with any meal or enjoyed alone.
Not only is catfish a good source of lean protein, it is extremely rich in vitamins and fish oils such as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (the so-called good fats). This farmed variety is a cousin of Obokun, its freshwater cousin but it is just as fresh and juicy. If you are used to Snapper or Barracuda or even Tilapia, definitely try farmed cat fish as a more pocket friendly addition to your fresh seafood menu.
Our cat fish can be delivered as is or prepped to your instructions. We clean and cut to your specifications before delivery so that your fish arrives neatly packed and ready to cook or ready to be stored in the freezer until you are ready to cook.
For best results, cook fresh or if stored in a freezer, soak it in salt and lemon or lime water and keep refrigerated for 4 – 24 hours before cooking .
